What three years built

NAMBA opened Twin Peaks Bike Park in Niseko on 16 September 2023 with 10.4km of trail. It’s now Japan’s largest free-to-ride mountain bike park, almost 18km of it, built and looked after by this community.

That’s worth a party. Dig with us in the morning, eat with us at lunch, then stay for an afternoon of bike games and a raffle.

What’s included

Out come the shovels

The morning is your chance to see what actually goes into a trail. The NAMBA crew will show you how we build and maintain them, and you’ll put real work into the ground while you learn.

We split into groups and take on different jobs across the park. Bring gloves, and wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Let the games begin

The afternoon is bike challenges and mini games, spread out across the park. Each one you finish earns extra raffle tickets, so the more you take on, the better your odds at 4:00pm.

We’ll announce what the challenges are closer to the day.

The raffle

Draw is at 4:00pm at the base of the park. Grab a drink, cross your fingers, and see what you go home with.

Prizes are still landing from some big names, and we’ll list them here as they’re confirmed. Only participants go in the draw and we don’t sell tickets separately, so get your ticket early. Announcements go out here and on Instagram.

Help out on the day

A day this size takes more hands than the NAMBA crew has. We need a setup crew, a teardown crew, and event staff in between. First aiders too, though you’ll need a current certification for that.

Take the whole day, the morning or the afternoon, whichever suits. Sign up to volunteer and we’ll be in touch with the details.

Bring a booth

Everything happens at the base area: registration in the morning, lunch, the afternoon games, the raffle draw at 4:00pm. Everyone comes through it more than once.

We’re opening it up to local bike shops and brands, food trucks and stalls, makers and artists, and community groups. Pitches are free and you’re welcome to sell. We take no commission.

One pitch is 6m x 6m of bare ground, so bring your own tent, tables and weights. There’s no power on site.

Applications close on Friday 11 September. Apply for a booth, or get in touch if you want to talk it through first.

Weather

We always hope for the best, but if Saturday isn’t playing ball we’ll move the whole day to Sunday 20 September. Monday the 21st is a public holiday, so there’s room in the weekend.
