What three years built

NAMBA opened Twin Peaks Bike Park in Niseko on 16 September 2023 with 10.4km of trail. It’s now Japan’s largest free-to-ride mountain bike park, almost 18km of it, built and looked after by this community.

That’s worth a party, so we’re doing it in two halves. Book the morning and dig with us. Then stick around, or just turn up at lunchtime, because the games, the prize draw and the party at Rhythm are free and open to everyone.

Part one: the Dig Morning

9:00am to 1:00pm. ¥5,000 adult, ¥2,500 under 16. Book in advance.

Spend the morning building trail alongside the NAMBA crew. Tools, instruction and the good kind of tired all provided. No experience needed, we’ll show you how.

We split into groups and take on different jobs across the park. Bring gloves, and wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

The t-shirt is made for this event and isn’t sold afterwards.

The ticket covers the morning. Everything from 1:00pm onwards is free and open to everyone.

Part two: the Birthday Party

From 1:00pm. Free. No ticket needed.

The afternoon is on us. Twin Peaks is a free public bike park, and the birthday is for everyone, whether you dug with us in the morning, rode over at lunchtime, or just came for the party.

Mini games, all afternoon

Small challenges on your own bike, dotted around the park. Nothing technical, and no special bike needed. Clear one and you’ve earned another game ticket. We’ll say what they are closer to the day. Free to enter, as many as you like, right through to 3:30pm.

How the draw works

Everyone at the Birthday Party gets five game tickets. Pick them up at the Party desk any time from 1:00pm, whether you dug with us this morning or just rolled in. Play the games to earn more. Game tickets aren’t for sale and never have been. The only way to get them is to be here.

The draw is at 5:00pm at Rhythm, once the party’s moved down. More people than ever this year, so the odds are longer and the party’s bigger. Worth it, we reckon.

The draw is free to enter and open to everyone, ticket or no ticket. Five game tickets each, more earned by playing. Prizes can’t be exchanged for cash, and winners under 18 claim with a parent or guardian. The full draw rules are in our Event Participation Terms.

The party at Rhythm

Free, everyone welcome. Doors from 4:00pm and happy hour until 6:00pm. Come and grab a beer with us and celebrate Twin Peaks turning three.

Help out on the day

A day this size takes more hands than the NAMBA crew has. We need a setup crew, a teardown crew, and event staff in between. First aiders too, though you’ll need a current certification for that.

Take the whole day, the morning or the afternoon, whichever suits. Sign up to volunteer and we’ll be in touch with the details.

Bring a booth

Everything at the park happens at the base area: registration in the morning, lunch, and the afternoon games through to 3:30pm. Everyone comes through it more than once.

We’re opening it up to local bike shops and brands, food trucks and stalls, makers and artists, and community groups. Pitches are free and you’re welcome to sell. We take no commission.

One pitch is 6m x 6m of bare ground, so bring your own tent, tables and weights. There’s no power on site.

Applications close on Friday 11 September. Apply for a booth, or get in touch if you want to talk it through first.

Weather

We always hope for the best, but if Saturday isn’t playing ball we’ll move the whole day to Sunday 20 September. Monday the 21st is a public holiday, so there’s room in the weekend.
