Our Team Meet NAMBA's Founders & Board

Founded in 2021 by six riders, NAMBA is now led by a 24-person board: men and women, Japanese and international, mountain bikers and not, all working toward the same vision for Niseko.

Our Leaders

Paul Wright

Paul Wright

NAMBA President
General Manager at Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono

"NAMBA is an exciting development for Niseko. Resort towns around the world have shown what mountain biking does for a place: it turns a winter economy into a year-round one. The co-founders have moved fast since 2021, and I'm looking forward to seeing Niseko become as well-known for summer riding as it is for winter."

Shunichi Kimura

Shunichi Kimura

NAMBA Vice President
Kimura Restaurant Owner & Yotei Niseko Cycling Association Vice President

"E-MTBs have opened the sport up: more people on bikes, which is what we want. NAMBA's trail network will give visitors a reason to come for summer too, not just winter. Trails close to town and the resorts mean locals and visitors both get something out of it."

Ross Carty

Ross Carty

Co-founder & NAMBA Vice President
NOASC Adventures Founder / Owner

"I came to Niseko 30+ years ago when it was a quiet farm town. I've watched it become one of the world's top winter destinations. Mountain biking is what's next: same trajectory, just for summer."

Our Trail Crew

Our paid trail crew. While the rest of NAMBA runs on volunteers, prepping new trails and maintaining existing ones is full-time work.

Led by Pierre and Dan, the team runs day-to-day operations at Twin Peaks and maintains the network across Grand Hirafu and Hanazono too. They also prep new trails before construction begins.
