Japan's Largest Free-to-Ride MTB Park

Twin Peaks is NAMBA's flagship: Japan's largest free-to-ride mountain bike park. Over 17km of Swiss-designed trails across 20+ routes, beginner flow lines through to expert technical terrain. Open every day of the riding season. No fees, no registration.

Growth Timeline

2022
4.4km · First build, no trees cut

Kutchan town grants permission to rent land for Twin Peaks Bike Park. With a COVID-shortened build window, we still finish 4.4km of trail under a 1m width restriction, without cutting down a single tree in the preservation forest.

2023
10.4km · Park opens

We gamble on an aggressive build window and plan an additional 6km of trail. The build completes on time, the fastest project Allegra had ever worked on. Twin Peaks opens to the public in September.

2024
13.8km · First double-black

A handwork-heavy year. We finish off Taki Tech, the region's first double-black, and open up the entrance to Taki Trail (black). The top section of Cruise Control also comes in. Network reaches 13.8km.

2025
17.8km · Jump line opens

Cruise Control finishes and quickly becomes the park's most popular trail. Niseko's first jump line opens too, paired with a dedicated climb trail for hot laps. Network reaches 17.8km. Work begins on the lower west climb.

2026
Beginner focused

The lower west climb finishes, and the region's first green downhill opens to pair with it. Both trails are still open for sponsorship.

NAMBA's Role

  • Designing the masterplan and regional trail network
  • Raising and managing community funding
  • Trail design, build, and ongoing maintenance
  • Day-to-day operations and rider experience

The Allegra Partnership

Every trail at Twin Peaks is designed and built with Allegra, the Swiss firm behind some of the best-known parks in Europe and Asia. Allegra say Twin Peaks is the fastest-growing trail network project they've ever worked on, or known of anywhere in the world.
On the ground, NAMBA's seasonal trail crew handle the build, alongside community volunteers on regular dig days.

100% Community-Funded

Twin Peaks is 100% community-funded. From 2022 to 2025, 92% of funding came from private and community sources, with 74% from local businesses alone. 82% of every yen goes straight into trail construction; 95% if you count maintenance. Every trail in the park has a sponsor.
Visitor numbers have grown with the network: 7,747 in 2024, 11,500+ in 2025.
