Twin Peaks Bike Park

The Niseko Area Mountain Bike Association (NAMBA) presents to you the Twin Peaks Bike Park, a free-to-use public bike park bringing the Niseko area 20+ kilometers of world class mountain bike trails. The park will be the first of its kind in Hokkaido and just one of a small handful of such parks in Japan. The incredible range of planned facilities will make mountain biking in the area accessible and approachable to all ages, all budgets and all abilities.

Features & location

Approximate plans for the bike park, for illustrative purposes only

Twin Peaks Park will feature 21 kilometers of winding single track mountain bike trails on Futagoyama mountain located directly above the Izumikyo area in Hirafu village.

The park is being designed and constructed in close collaboration with world renowned trail building company Allegra, who NAMBA is incredibly excited to work with. In the works are a full offering of beginner, intermediate and expert trails and a 2 kilometer skills center loop at the base of the park. Even the youngest riders are catered for with a separate balance bike loop to hone their skills and introduce them to the sport.

For further details please refer to the masterplan here.

Trail updates

Official trail building began on August 16th.

What we need

NAMBA is funding construction of the park through a crowdfunding campaign and through donations and sponsorships from generous local and international businesses. We have already secured ¥8 million in funding from the local council and businesses and early phases of construction are underway with approximately 8 kilometers of trails set to open for riders by Autumn of 2022.

The total cost of phase one is ¥18 million - we need a further ¥10 million to complete the 2022 trail building work!

How you can help

With your help, the Twin Peaks Bike Park will be a truly value-adding asset for the area's community and a world class facility cementing Niseko as a summer destination. NAMBA would like to invite you to participate in a raffle and fundraiser to benefit the construction of this grassroots project.

The Twin Peaks Bike Park funding in detail

Total construction costs for the park's 21 kilometers of trails are estimated to reach ¥54 million. This includes the skills center and the kids' balance bike zone at the entrance of the park.

NAMBA is targeting domestic and international sources to fund the park. Upon completion, funding is expected to have been received from the following sources:

Local and National government bodies
Local Businesses
Crowdfunding
Local clubs/Membership

Funding sources

NAMBA is pursuing all potential funding avenues including, but not limited to, those listed above. We are thankful for the support we have been receiving from the Kutchan Tourism Association, Kutchan Council, local businesses and from businesses within the mountain bike industry. To complete all of phase 1 we now need your help by participating in our campaign.
