About NAMBA:
NAMBA (Niseko Area Mountain Bike Association) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, maintenance, and promotion of mountain biking in the Niseko region. We work with the local community, government, and businesses to create accessible and sustainable trails for locals and visitors alike.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to support NAMBA’s committee heads and strategic initiatives. This role is central to helping our volunteer-led committees deliver key projects. You will act as a communication hub, ensuring tasks move forward smoothly, timelines are met, and stakeholders stay informed and connected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination:
- Support the planning and delivery of NAMBA-led projects.
- Track timelines, tasks, and deliverables across multiple committees.
- Maintain project documentation, action logs, and schedules.
- Communication & Liaison:
- Act as the point of contact between the operations committee, external partners, and stakeholders.
- Prepare agendas, take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items for meetings.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain shared files and systems for budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
- Assist with basic bookkeeping and liaising with the accounts volunteer.
Requirements:
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in Japan. Please note that we are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position at this time.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication in business level English (Japanese language proficiency a plus).
- Tech-savvy, with confidence using shared tools like Google Workspace, Slack, etc.
- A self-starter with a flexible and collaborative approach to working with volunteers
- Interest in mountain biking, outdoor activities, or community-led initiatives is a bonus
- Ability to attend online/in-person meetings between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work.
- Prepared to work occasionally outside, at new or existing trail sites.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
